the society of illustrators of los angeles have accepted two of jolene's illustrations to be showcased in the online exhibition for illustration west 46. this is kind of a great thing. go look at it! go! illustration west 46

jolene has recently been working on the ad campaign for Air America Minnesota's annual Blue State Ball. she had the opportunity to create an illustration of radio host Ed Schultz, which was used in ads around town, including appearing in Pulse Magazine and Lavender Magazine. i think we can all agree this is exciting. if you're interested in attending, or maybe just learning more about the Blue State Ball or Air America Minnesota in general just click on the picture above or the link here: more information

jolene's illustration piece "racial profiling" was recently featured in cmyk magazine's issue no.33 for sale now in all major bookstores nation wide. cmyk's website says: "cmyk magazine is one of the most sought-after and high-profile portfolio competitions in the world: a rare opportunity to showcase one's talents to hiring professionals and artist representatives across the globe. with cmyk the grand prize is not just recognition and validation, but a better shot at gaining employment." jo says: "yyeesssss"

the song "people" on album "apple s apple z" from minneapolis band medida (cover design by jolene) was just named number nine out of the twenty best songs of 2005 by peter scholtes of city pages. go buy it here. (it's pretty rockin' music)
